Vagant is a pan-Scandinavian quarterly journal covering books, art, film, music, ideas and contemporary debate, with a frequently updated online edition. First published in 1988, Vagant aims at introducing new ideas and impulses to the Norwegian and Nordic debate on literature, art and society. Through thematic sections the magazine explores emerging ideological trends and current political challenges.

The evening will consist of a discussion between Mats O. Svensson and Johanne Elster Hanso on the Norwegian poet Nordahl Grieg, Project Cassandra, and how to prevent conflicts with literature, followed by poetry readings from Alice Miller and Swedish author My Roman Fagerlind.

Mats O. Svensson is a Swedish critic and contributing editor at Vagant living in Berlin. His latest book, Those who sang at the end of civilisation. On lyrics in the Anthropocene, was published 2021 in Sweden.

Alice Miller is the author of three collections of poems, most recently, What Fire (Pavilion), as well as a novel, More Miracle than Bird (Tin House).

Johanne Elster Hanson is a Norwegian writer and critic living in Berlin. She is contributing editor at Vagant, and currently writing a biography of Nordahl Grieg.

My Roman Fagerlind is a Swedish poet, playwright and literary editor with an MFA in literary composition from Valand Academy of Fine Arts.
