Prime Suspect is the first international survey show of Lucy McKenzie's (b. 1977) work at Museum Brandhorst, bringing together works from all of the artist's major work groups, from 1997 to the present. This comprehensive and richly illustrated catalog documents the full range of McKenzie's work. Beginning with early works that explore the iconography of international sports as well as the political dimension of postwar murals, through preoccupations with fin de siècle architecture and interior design, or Belgian illustration of the 1950s, to an ongoing exploration of the interwoven histories of fashion and retail displays, McKenzie has established herself as a unique artistic voice of her generation. Texts by: Mason Leaver-Yap, Leah Pires, Anne Pontégnie, and Jacob Proctor, with a short story by Lucy McKenzie.
